Marian Carrasquero is a Venezuelan documentary photographer and filmmaker. She attended Speos Paris Photographic Institute in 2011 and received a professional studio photography certification. Then she received her B.F.A in photography with a minor in creative writing from the Savannah College of Art and Design and attended Eddie Adams Workshop XXVIII in 2015. She is always seeking to immerse herself in long form stories relating to race, gender, migration and other social issues. She is currently working on a documentary short film she produced and shot about Venezuelan migrants in Colombia. Her work has been featured nationally and internationally in The New York Times, NPR, Huffington Post, Gear Patrol Magazine, Aint-Bad, Prodavinci and El Nacional. She is currently based in Berkeley, California where she is getting her masters degree in Documentary Filmmaking from UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. // @mariancaa
